This volume contains the first part of the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization in celebration of Alex Ioffe's 70th and Simeon Reich's 60th birthdays which took place on June 18-24, 2008, at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.
This book is co-published with Bar-Ilan University (Ramat-Gan, Israel).
