This last volume of René Thom's complete mathematical works contains the Fermi lectures Modèles mathématiques de la morphogénèse given at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa in 1971, followed by articles published between 1972 and 1997, together with previously unpublished texts and comments putting the whole into perspective. As in Volume II, this volume includes references presenting a wealth of imbrication between very innovative mathematics and their applications. Many of them reflect the extraordinary success of catastrophe theory in the seventies. The volume begins with an updated bibliography of Thom's works.
A publication of the Société Mathématique de France, Marseilles (SMF), distributed by the AMS in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Orders from other countries should be sent to the SMF. Members of the SMF receive a 30% discount from list.
